Pig detectors
We supply a magnetic field detector which senses the field created by the pig’s internal magnet(s). This allows the location of the pig to be determined at specific points during the pigging process in a pipeline.
The detection output is via ‘volt free’ contacts which can be used to either provide a digital input to a control system or, in the case of a manual system sound a siren or illuminate a light.
We can detect pigs at speed so you never miss a pig in a pipeline. If you would like to test a pig detector just let us know!

Pigging is a term that has been used for
about 100 years in the Oil Industry to send
a projectile down a pipeline to clean out the line and recover the product. It is now used in process plants Going Green as plant operators use pigs to increase efficiencies. Pigging reduces waste, water, CIP and change over times at batching process plants also reducing cross contamination and allergens.
